Why we need to wear Hats at School ?

Did you know how many people die every year from skin cancer ? 9,730 deaths are blamed to Melanoma. This disease is a type of Skin Cancer. It begins in Melanocytes, which are the cells that produce the pigment melanin the colors the skin, hair and eyes. Melanocytes also form Moles, where Melanoma often grows.

The reason why we have to wear hats at School is so we are protect ourselves from the Sun and it’s UV rays. There are tons of reason why we wear hats or be sun smart, but the main idea is so we don’t get skin cancer or any other kind of Skin Damage from the sun.  

You need to be safe from the sun because it is a matter of life and death. I would advise you to be carefully when going in the sun at 10am till 4pm, considering that the UV rays would be at their highest.  

Hats should be apart of every school’s uniform, because so children and Adults can protect themselves from the Sun’s UV Rays. In my opinion, I think people shouldn’t take their Hats off and throw them on the ground when they play games. Cause when you’re running the sun at burn the back of your neck while your running.

These are the reasons why Point England School is a Sunsmart School. And I think every School should have hats as part of their Uniform and should be Compulsory.
