New Zealand's New flag

Have you heard New Zealand had a Referendum ?
Well New Zealand had a referendum for the past two weeks, to decide on a new flag. Even Point England School had voted.

New Zealand’s public has voted to retain its existing national flag in a historic referendum. The second and final vote in the twenty six million dollars process, closed at seven o'clock on Thursday before Easter.

More than 1.2 million people, or 56.6 percent of those who voted, opted to keep the current flag. More than 915, 000, or 43.1 percent, voted for the alternative flag, which was designed by New Zealander Kyle Lockwood.

A total of 67.3 percent of people who could vote did so. Deputy prime minister Bill English said “ It has been a robust democratic process that allowed New Zealanders to discuss how it wanted to be represented on the world stage. Labour leader Andrew Little, however, said “ Mr Key had split the nation and achieved nothing.”

My Opinion in the referendum is New Zealand should keep it’s existing flag, due to the flag of New Zealand is a defaced blue ensign with the Union flag in the canton and four red stars’ pattern represents the asterism within the constellation of Crux, the southern cross. And has a lot of history behind it. Here’s the link to all the history which is on : Wikipedia Check it out !
